OUR STORY

At the School of Sustainable Tailoring Arts (STA), we believe fashion is more than just clothing—it’s a way to express creativity, preserve craftsmanship, and shape a more sustainable future. STA was founded with one clear purpose: to transform passion into purpose by empowering students to rethink how fashion is made, altered, and reimagined.

Here, learning goes beyond sewing. We teach the art of tailoring, alterations, and upcycling with a focus on our Triple S values: Sustainability, Style, and Skill. Students explore how to extend the life of garments, minimize waste, and design with intention, while discovering their own creative voices.

What sets STA apart is our hands-on approach. Classes are intimate and practical, ensuring personalized instruction and real-world projects that matter. Whether it’s giving a second life to thrifted finds, mastering patternmaking, or refining the craft of alterations, our students gain the confidence to bring bold ideas to life.

At STA, we don’t just prepare people for the fashion industry—we inspire them to help transform it. Our students leave with the creativity, purpose, and craftsmanship to lead sustainable initiatives, build their own design journeys, or become sought-after professionals in tailoring and alterations. STA is more than a school—it’s a movement toward a fashion future defined by innovation, individuality, and responsibility.
